Housing Crisis

A HOUSING crisis threatens to leave thousands of people in Stratford district unable to find a roof over their heads. The number of new homes being built in the area has fallen by 76 per cent in just six years, according to figures released this week by the Home Builders Federation (HBF). Home building has fallen from 510 in 2005/6 to just 120 in 2010/11, while official government projections reveal the number of households in the area was expected to increase by 680 annually. The news comes just weeks after the council turned down a controversial development of 800 homes
