The number of new homes being built in the area has fallen by 76 per cent in just six years, according to figures released this week by the Home Builders Federation (HBF). Home building has fallen from 510 in 2005/6 to just 120 in 2010/11, while official government projections reveal the number of households in the area was expected to increase by 680 annually.
